Last week I launched The DEI Boardroom to connect professionals in the diversity, equity and inclusion. Together we can do more. This week a person said to me, "sometimes this is lonely work." You are in the right place. Watch why I'm starting The DEI Boardroom in 2021.
The DEI Boardroom is an online group of professionals in the Diversity & Inclusion space. We are committed to showing up, sharing, and unleashing the power of collective knowledge to make a positive impact in our organizations and communities.
Just like a boardroom, there are limited seats. Why? Because we want doers and not lurkers. You know the board member who never shows up the meetings? We want quality, not quantity. We want to create a trusted community. So we created an application which is found at the bottom of this page.
This is for professionals who have responsibility for diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, justice, or organizational culture. It can be 100% of your role or if you wear multiple hats at your organization, maybe a portion of your role.
Because identifying as part of an underrepresented group does not automatically qualify you a DEI professional.
Because most of us didn't go to school for DEI.
Because LinkedIn Groups are ineffective.
Because large webinars don't have time for questions.
Because DEI can be complex.
Because we need practical and sound help, advice, thought leadership and solutions.
Because we need a group of people we can trust.
Because we can't do this work alone.
Because we need "how to" support.
