Why Partnering and Speaking at the NHIA is Personal

Most people don't know that I suffered from severe hyperemesis gravidarum.

This extreme form of morning sickness knocked me down and left me completely nonfunctional. I would spend the day throwing up bile, resulting in esophagitis. I did every home remedy, essential oil, acupuncture, 1st line antiemetics, you name it - with minimal relief. I needed to go to the hospital and get IVs to rehydrate.

For my 2nd pregnancy I was a home infusion patient on a sub q of antiemetics. My home care nurses were encouraging and empathetic.

That's why it's such a full circle moment to partner with the National Home Infusion Association. It's close to my heart and I'm so grateful for the work they do.

Join me on April 22 at 1:00pm EDT.

I'll be talking about how to practice Inclusion & Civility in Healthcare.

The research is clear: a lack of inclusion and incivility negatively impacts teamwork, communication and patient care.

Come back April 22 at 5:30pm EDT.

We're revealing the Women in Leadership award!
