We Suffer in Silence

So many people are heartbroken to hear 9 people lost their lives in a California helicopter crash with the most recognizable name being NBA legend, Kobe Bryant.

This past weekend in my circle of friends, one family is mourning the loss of a wife/mother/grandmother due to cancer and another is mourning the loss of son/nephew/cousin.  I'm reminded of how much sadness, pain, and hurt occurs every day.

When we talk about leading others or inclusion, we can get caught up in theories, techniques, do’s, and don’ts on how to manage and interact with people.

Before you judge, gossip, and sigh – listen, accept, and assume people are doing the best they can.  Blessed people bless people. Hurt people hurt people.

No, this doesn't absolve people from taking responsibility and accountability for themselves and their actions.

So what can we do?  Be kind and have empathy.

People aren't moved by theories, they're moved by human connection.

As we work and live together, I’ll leave you with something I heard Andy Stanley say:

People who think they’re better than other people haven’t taken time to hear the stories of the people they think they’re better than.

- Andy Stanley

How can you bless someone today?
