10 Websites for Diverse Stock Photos

Thank you to 99 Designs! I summarized the first 7 websites from their recent blog on Why it’s important to use diverse stock images in design today. Stock images are used everyday and embedded into presentations, websites, blogs, brochures, and more.

10 Websites to help you diversify your stock images

  1. CreateHERstock – Images featuring women of color
  2. Flickr #WOCintech photostream – Women in tech and women of color in tech stock images under Creative Commons Attribution
  3. Getty Images: No Apologies Collection – images of women with different body sizes and skin tones
  4. Representation Matters – Royalty-free stock image collection focusing on ethnic + social diversity + healthy body image
  5. Getty Images: the Disability Collection – disability inclusive photos
  6. Push Living – disability inclusive photos
  7. Adobe Fluid Self – more diverse range of people

Although the next 3 websites do not specialize in diverse photos, the access to a community of global photographers increases the variety of people and imagery represented.

  1. Unsplash – Free photos from a community of photographers
  2. Pixabay Free stock photos and videos
  3. Pexels – Free stock photos by talented photographers

People want to see themselves represented in the images they look at. Review your presentations, online imagery, and marketing materials and make sure it represents a diverse range of people.  There are both paid and free images!  Subscribe to the blog and check back for more resources.
